Terms of use

The service

Hailey is an AI gateway run by DDG. It provides web chat and an OpenAI-compatible API at ask.hailey.io/v1, including named actions. Accounts are given by request, and each one is scoped to a person or a service. We may suspend an account or revoke a key that's misused or at risk.

What Hailey keeps

By default, Hailey keeps a full transcript of every request: the prompt, any images or files, and the answer. There is no fixed deletion date. A request can ask for less with retain_days: -1 means no transcript is written, and 1–365 means the transcript is deleted after that many days. Some actions, such as kyc-verify, are never retained. The Privacy page has the details.

If you send other people's personal data through Hailey, choose the retention that matches what you have told them. Tell them that an AI service processes it. Use retain_days: -1 when you have promised not to keep it.

Acceptable use

AI output

Answers come from AI models and can be wrong. Check anything that matters. Results from actions such as kyc-verify are aids to a decision. They aren't certified checks. When a result says review, a person should decide.

Availability and changes

We try to keep Hailey running, but we don't guarantee uptime. We may change models, limits, actions or these terms. When an action's rules change, its version number goes up.

Liability

Hailey is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, DDG isn't liable for indirect losses or for decisions made on the basis of AI output.
